classes to strengthen and restore
Frances studied psychology, neuroscience, and music in the 1990s and is a graduate of Barnard College. She has practiced yoga for 20+ years and completed holistic yoga teacher training at the Asheville Yoga Center in 2020. Frances is trained to teach hatha, vinyasa, yin, restorative, chair, and strengthening yoga — all alignment-based with a focus on joint and musculature safety through biomechanics and protective movement patterns.
Classes can be held in 1:1 sessions or in small to large group settings. A 1:1 class can be designed for the needs of a specific student, such as calming the nervous system or strengthening the core to help reduce lower back pain. Classes can also be designed as a mini-event or a retreat for a group focusing on a topic such as “Yoga for People Who Sit A Lot”, “Care for the Caretaker”, or a seasonal class such as “Slow Flow to Rest & Restore: A Winter Class by Candlelight”. Classes can be held with or without (thoughtfully chosen) soft instrumental music and always include a long savasana (resting pose) at the end of each class to help the body let go, rest, and restore.
Please check back in ~late summer 2026 for videos of restoring and strengthening yoga practices.
